Excitement is building for the 2025 King Price Race to the Sun, with organisers announcing significant increases to the prize pool. Thanks to the support of King Price and Sun City, competitors will now be racing for even greater rewards.
Increased Prize Purse
Sun City has significantly elevated the championship rewards, increasing both the men’s and women’s elite category prizes by R10,000. This increase raises the prestigious first-place payout from R20,000 to R30,000, reinforcing King Price Race to the Sun’s status as one of South Africa’s premier gravel races.
King & Queen of the Mountain Prizes Doubled
In addition, King Price has doubled the King and Queen of the Mountain prizes. These prestigious classifications will now award R5,000 each, up from the previous R2,500.
The increased prize purse raises the stakes for what is already one of South Africa’s most prestigious gravel events, the 2025 edition is set to be the most memorable yet. View the full prize money breakdown here.
